Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Windsor, CT
Client: LTTS/ Collins Aerospace
Job Description:
Act as the Member Focal Point (MFP), representing the customer and build positive working relationships with their aerospace suppliers
Work with suppliers to monitor and document issues and barriers faced in day-to-day operations.
Utilize PPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans, etc.) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in product development.
Manage quality processes to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management, including gate reviews, Manufacturing Readiness Level Planning and PPAP acceptance.
Make continuous improvement recommendations to support defect reduction metrics
Ensure customer compliance standards are met, including process control documentation
Communicate status reports to LTTS and customer leadership.
Conduct supplier quality performance assessments. Track performance and improvement over time.
Identify supplier quality risks and help drive risk mitigation plans.
Be empowered to execute supplier operational improvement initiatives
Implements corrective action plans for any identified supplier process gaps
Regularly presents supplier performance progress, action items, challenges, risks, and progress to key internal and external stakeholders.
Adheres to import, export, and procurement regulations.
This role requires occasional travel to suppliers as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
Direct experience with PPAP in the aerospace industry
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications
An understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices
In-depth understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems
MFP certification, or ability to obtain
ASQ (CQE, CQM) certifications
Experience with escape management procedures (ZDP) and RRCAs
Experience with Heat Exchangers
Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools such as FAI, PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements
Working knowledge of APQP, MRL, and QCPC
Experience drafting technical documents, such as Work Instructions, Inspection Plans, etc.
Exposure to key quality tools, such as DAISE, 8D, DIVE, PDCS, LEAN, 6-Sigma, etc.
Exposure to SAP
Exposure to Net Inspect
Knowledge of various manufacturing processes
An ability to build positive intercompany relationships
Outstanding communication and reporting skills
