Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Supports the manufacturing operations by optimizing the supplier bases quality levels for direct materials and is responsible in working with suppliers to successfully launch new products and manage current products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducting technical and risk reviews (quality aspect) with suppliers on direct material design changes and new parts.
  2. Reviewing and approving supplier PPAPs.
  3. Reviewing and approving supplier run at rates in line with sourced annual capacity.
  4. Ensuring suppliers submit annual PPAPs on time and review and approve.
  5. Formalizing, monitoring and communicating monthly supplier performance scores (Delivery and Quality) to suppliers.
  6. Supplier development for strategic purpose or as needed to bring supplier quality up to required standard.
  7. Supporting plants to get root cause and corrective actions on NCRs timely and until closed out.
  8. Determining when supplier audits are needed and conducting supplier audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  9. Gathering and compiling conflict minerals reporting from suppliers and preparing ARC reports for customers.
  10. Notifying Buyer when official drawings are released.
  11. Managing supplier change requests through to approval.
  12. Supporting plant quality in acquiring supplier / part information as needed e.g. material certs. or inspection results.
  13. Following up with Design Engineering for part validation feedback.
  14. Following up with Design Engineering for test results relating to a supplier quality issues.
  15. Tracking, obtaining and reviewing of suppliers for relevant CQI special process assessments.
  16. Monitoring and updating global Approved Supplier List, including obtaining and filing supplier Quality certs.
  17. Guidance on ISO 9001 and IATF requirements.
  18. Maintaining documentation / record keeping.
  19. Providing reports on above topics.


Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical discipline and three to five (3-5) years professional engineering experience in Quality Control/Assurance. *5 years' experience in related field. *Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Duties will be performed in a combination office/shop environment. Employee may be exposed to environmental/controlled air conditions, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical processes requiring the use of protective equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and travel overnight on occasion.
