Where You'll Work - Electric Motors Division (EMD)
The Electric Motors Division makes innovative transverse flux electric motors for a wide variety of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) applications.

The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ETM, you'll play a pivotal role in the development of our groundbreaking electric motor technology. You will spearhead mechanical design and engineering initiatives, working collaboratively with a diverse team to guide our products from ideation to production. Previous motor experience is not required, but a deep understanding of precision electromechanical assembly, a strong grasp of fundamental physics and analytics, and experience in testing, reliability, high-volume manufacturing, and cost-sensitive applications are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and development of ETM's electric motors, ensuring peak performance, dependability, and manufacturability.
- Devise and implement innovative mechanical engineering solutions that tackle the unique challenges posed by TFM technology.
- Conduct appropriate analysis and simulation to validate designs, optimize performance, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Prototype and test new motors designs, assembly concepts, and electromechanical systems
- Guide the transition of designs from prototype to production, working closely with manufacturing engineering to guarantee smooth and efficient production processes.
- Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers, cultivating a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a strong emphasis on precision electromechanical assembly and design for manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in leading the development of complex mechanical systems from concept to production.
- Exceptional intuitive understanding of fundamental physics and analytical principles, with the ability to apply them to real-world engineering challenges.
- Extensive experience in testing and reliability engineering, with a focus on ensuring product robustness and longevity.
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing and cost-sensitive applications, possessing a keen eye for optimizing designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and analytical tools
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
