Primary Talent Partners has a 12 month contract opening for a Buyer / Planner to join a multinational pharmaceutical company for an onsite position operating out of Elkhorn, NE.
Pay:
$40.00/hr - $44.00/hr Contract : 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible Type:
W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Summary: The Buyer/Planner has the primary responsibility of ensuring material availability to support the production schedule. This Individual handles routine and ad hoc purchasing needs, vendor reporting, and other administrative tasks as defined by the General Manager. Minor data analysis. Other responsibilities include managing inventory levels, supporting material/product level revisions, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics, and supporting other business functions as required.
Responsibilities:
Place purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of production material as required by forecast and the production schedule. Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials, including timely resolution, communication and mitigation of future potential problems Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule/inventory changes Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and material lead times Coordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product development Manage the inter-company flow or materials between warehouse locations Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers Setup & maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks) Collaborate with internal customers and provide a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources, and alternative supply options Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures. Required Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; High School diploma or equivalent with relevant experience in lieu of degree will be considered. MBA is highly preferred. Requires sourcing-related experience in the pharmaceutical or related industries. 2-5 years relevant experience as a buyer/planner/material scheduler . Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems/concepts, forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines - preferably SAP. Proficient with MS Office suite - skills with MS Excel and SAP, Analytical with a methodical approach to problem solving with a continuous improvement mindset. Customer focused (internal and external) in a dynamic environment. Focused on collaboration with a constructive and proactive attitude. Comprehend and follow Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
