PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency - Midwestern University and Northwestern Medicine

National Community Pharmacists Association, Chicago, Illinois, United States, 60290

Midwestern University College of Pharmacy offers a PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency in collaboration with Northwestern Medicine in downtown Chicago. The PGY2 ambulatory care resident will receive 8 months of training in a primary care clinic at Northwestern Medicine Galter Pavilion providing comprehensive medication management and will have the opportunity to complete 4 months of elective rotations at Northwestern or other health systems in the Chicagoland area, depending on the resident's interests. Each week the resident will spend 4 days at their clinical site and one day on campus at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL where they will have discussions regarding teaching, management, and research, as well as dedicated time to work on research, management, and teaching projects.

Program graduates will possess the knowledge and skills to function as independent practitioners and members of a multidisciplinary team. They will gain experience providing patient-centered care through a comprehensive collaborative practice agreement for patients with chronic diseases. In addition, program graduates will have the skills necessary to initiate new ambulatory care services in their future careers. This program also emphasizes developing teaching skills and prepares graduates to become effective educators in the clinical and academic setting.
