Position Summary:

This position is for the UNM-Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
University of New Mexico-Gallup Branch, Education, Health and Human Services Division, anticipates hiring adjunct faculty to teach face-to-face and/or develop lower division courses (100/1000 level) in the Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025 semesters in the following anticipated potential disciplines:
EMS Basic
EMS Basic Lab
Introduction to EMS Systems
Emergency Medical Responder
First Aid & CPR
American Heart Association CPR
The Education, Health and Human Services Division at UNM Gallup Branch is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various courses or topics as specified above. UNM Gallup instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching including but not limited to meeting face-to-face with the class during assigned times that may include evenings or weekends, content delivery, assignment development, grading assignments, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the division chair.
Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to the division chair.
Wages:
Adjunct Faculty are currently compensated on the basis of their credentials and credit hour course loads, as follows:
Credentials
Rate Per Credit Hour Terminal Degree, plus 12 hours teaching experience
$1,100.94 Terminal Degree, less than 12 hours teaching experience
$1,056.70 Master’s Degree, plus 12 hours teaching experience
$1,017.60 Master’s Degree, less than 12 hours teaching experience
$1,017.60 Bachelor’s Degree, plus 12 hours teaching experience
$1,017.60 Bachelor’s Degree, less than 12 hours teaching experience
$1,017.60 Applied Tech, experience at Journeyman
$1,017.60

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
UNM Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Academy Approved EMT/EMS Instructor Coordinator
Current New Mexico Emergency Medical Technician Certification (AEMT/Paramedic)
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) Card
Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years professional EMS experience
Experience teaching EMS/EMT classes
Experience with program design/methodology
Basic Life Support (CPR) instructor
A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
