ROLE SUMMARY Provide financial analysis of manufacturing processes to drive key performances. Determine the appropriate data to collect to provide the most insightful data to guide in decision making. Analyzes manufacturing cost variances, determines root causes, and prepares recommendations and alternatives for improvements. Identifies cost data analysis needs and works with appropriate departments to obtain the data on a regular basis. Prepares analyses and materials presenting strategic recommendations to be made to management. Responsible for product costing for all new and existing products, and trouble shoots existing cost accounting issues to correct problems. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze and evaluate weekly manufacturing variances including PPV, labor/OH absorption, and inventory valuation and implement timely adjustments. Collaborate with the manufacturing operations to analyze variance and drive improvements. Assist in developing standard costs for materials, labor and overhead. Prepare month-end journal entries manually & review for anomalies & inconsistencies. Prepare monthly inventory account reconciliations and identify why any unreconciled variances exist. Assist in developing an inventory reserve policy and perform monthly analysis. Develop plant expense guidelines to ensure correct classification of controlled expenses. Assist in budget and forecast preparation and ensure timely completion. Assist with annual financial audits as it relates to inventory and standard costs. Perform cost-benefit analyses as needed. Participate in the cycle count process with Supply Chain quarterly. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in accounting/finance or related field. 5+ years relevant work experience in manufacturing and cost accounting. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills. Experience using Microsoft Dynamics (D365). Able to quickly adapt to changing priorities. Able to communicate with professionals at all levels and with various professional backgrounds. Drive simplification, standardization and continuous improvement of processes and controls to achieve effective financial reporting and internal controls. Ability to explain technical accounting to non-finance teams. Support the Head of Finance and Finance Director on ad-hoc projects as needed.
