1st Shift Manufacturing Electrician

This position will be in a manufacturing environment, with medium noise levels, requiring ear protection and safety glasses, in certain areas. Frequent movement on the production floor includes standing, stooping, bending, and reaching. The Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing all electrical devices of the plant. It also works effectively as a team contributor on all required tasks, works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating, and coordinating work efforts with other employees and departments.
- Troubleshoots 480VAC 3 phase motor control circuits.
- Troubleshoots industrial control circuits
- Modifies circuits in industrial machines and systems.
- Changes all size motors from fractional to 300 H.P.
- Troubleshoots PLC systems.
- Installs control systems for rebuilds or new systems.
- Installs and testing Ethernet networks.
- Troubleshoots and installing VFD motor controls.
- Electrician disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment.
- Responsible for replacing all fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches.
- Performs other duties assigned by management.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Follows all safety rules and procedures and observes the operations to ensure a safe environment.
- Machine set-up, troubleshoots equipment failures, and perform repair and prevent maintenance services ensuring that all safety procedures are being followed.
- Must have strong PLC troubleshooting capability and ability to read and program code.
- Must have a good working knowledge of all aspects of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and heating, ventilating, and air conditioning-related control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings, as well as service manuals for all equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair both Electrical and Mechanical problems associated with Production and Facility equipment in a timely manner.
- Must be able to work to repair equipment back to service during emergency breakdowns.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Full and complete understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Prefer an Electrician's License, but not mandatory.
