POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Senior FP&A Analyst to join our finance team. Initially, this position will be focused more on performing general ledger operations, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities. These activities lead to providing timely and accurate financial data to all levels of management in compliance with accounting procedures, policies, and external reporting requirements of various regulatory agencies. These activities will provide a strong foundation for the subsequent primary focus on FP&A.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication abilities, and is a problem-solver that performs moderate to complex general accounting responsibilities, applying knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and concepts.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Essential job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Compares entries and balances on daily statements and/or other sources to general ledger entries and account balances, and notes discrepancies between the two; researches and documents discrepancies by contacting departments, branch offices, or correspondent banks to identify entries that contain differences, completes work papers, itemizes differences between correspondent statement balances and association general ledger balances, and classifies the types of entries needed to correct entries.
  • Performs general accounting responsibilities including participation in the month-end closing process, review of high-risk asset accounting and other complex accounting research and processes as assigned.
  • Assists and participates in preparing financial data for the bank’s quarterly federal and state call reports, annual consolidated balance sheet, income statements, statements of change in capital, and statement of changes in financial position, annual budget, and long-range financial plan.
  • Develops and maintains financial models for various business units and projects. Analyzes financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis. Prepares ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making.
  • Performs a variety of related clerical duties and completes special projects for management as assigned, including participation in the development/maintenance of monthly and annual reports, automated accounting system reports, budget reports, and development/maintenance of intricate Excel spreadsheets.
  • Performs other backup duties as required for the department, and special assignments from the Controller and the CFO.
  • Mentors and develops FP&A team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Drives improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts, with five to seven years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in a banking environment or three to five years of financial planning and analysis experience.
  • Must be capable of independently problem-solving challenges while working with other departments across the bank.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reconciliation, financial reporting and appropriate skills in financial analysis, technical writing, and reporting.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule work and projects and exercise judgment within boundaries of individual assignments.
  • Ability to work in a team environment under the direction of multiple managers.
  • Business-related communication with all levels of personnel and branch managers.

Salary Range: $3,325.00 - $3,525.00/Biweekly, which annualizes to $86,450.00 - 91,650.00
