ABOUT THIS POSITION
Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) in MountainView, CA
The SAP Architect will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of SAP solutions supporting Fluence’s business processes and strategies. You will collaborate closely with other Architects, Development Teams, Business Analysts, and our business partners, to ensure solutions are delivered in a scalable manner and on-time while supporting products that are changing the world. Along with other leads, you will be responsible for technical designs, architecture, and design. A potential candidate needs a strong foundation in software development & integrations, with a background in SAP and related SAP systems along with other enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities Include:
•Manage Technical architecture analysis, research, design and development of new functionality and integration with key applications and services under SAP ecosystems
•Participate in product roadmap and product strategy definition.
•Develop the design and architecture of integration solutions, including data mapping, transformation, and API management.
•Collaborate with multi-functional teams to evaluate business activities, design, and develop solutions to meet the needs.
•Guide the engineering team to develop, configure and implement the solution as per the product development standards to meet business requirements
•Monitor the work of the technical team and ensure standards are adhered to in accordance with SAP’s Solution Extensions
•Monitor compliance and related guidance (such as data retention and audit requirements) to determine impact on enterprise architecture
•Monitor emerging industry standards to determine impact on enterprise architecture
•Monitor regulatory guidelines (such as consumer privacy issues) to determine impact on enterprise architecture
•Work with and advise the QA team on the design of test plans, test cases and on automation
•Help and review with the creation of training, product, and solution documentation
•Performing integration architecture and infrastructure design activities
•Participate in resolving technology integration problems
•Define the overall integration strategy and roadmap for connecting SAP systems with external applications, data sources, and platforms.
•Provide training to internal teams on using and maintaining integration solutions.
•Supporting help desk and business on various technical issues.
•Communicate sophisticated technical solutions into simple conclusions.
What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
- Experience designing and implementing Solution Architecture practices
- Strong SAP Functional knowledge or SAP Basis background
- Ability to analyze project, program and portfolio needs
- Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
- Implementation, upgrade and support of the latest SAP systems versions,
- Deep understanding of Application development and application life cycle management
- Knowledge of project planning and management, including scope, time and resource management
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud technologies
- 8+ years’ work experience in SAP product consulting, systems integration, or architect role.
- 5+ years Integration Engineering Architecture experience in large Enterprises with technologies such as SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, BOOMI, MuleSoft, Workato
- 7+ years of experience with multiple SAP technologies (i.e. S/4HANA, ABAP, IDOC, BAPI, Data Integration / Migration, Business Technology Platform)
- 5+ years of software development experience in major software development languages /platforms (JAVA/.net/Python)
- Good understanding of SAP best practices
- Must have excellent expertise in ABAP development with very good understanding of SAP modules such as Finance, MM, PP, QM, SD, PLM, and APO.
- Must have extensive development experience using ABAP objects, HANA SQL Programming, SAP Fiori Developments, OData developments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) based design & development and ABAP Restful Programming Model
- Experience working with interfaces in addition to Web Services, such as Java connectors and Rest APIs communicating with non-SAP applications.
- Experience with SAP security concepts and must have implemented authorization checks in ABAP objects.
- Experience in working with SAP Cloud technologies like SAC and other SAP Cloud technologies.
- Comfortable conducting solution demos and presentations to customers/business stake holders/architects.
- Exposure to compliance regulations like GDPR, ITAR and Export Compliance is a plus.
- Able to report both verbally and in writing to executive level.
- Experience in Cloud native integration in Azure, Google Cloud, AWS
- Experience with EDI-B2B communication: SAP B2B Add-on, SPS, Trading Partner Management, Integration Advisor and EDI Message Tracking
- Experience with data integration: SAP Data Intelligence, Data Services or SAP SLT
- Exposure to modern integration architecture including Kubernetes, Microservices and service mesh.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems).
- Experience working in Agile & Waterfall environments
- Understanding of Software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Ability to affect positive change, empower people, cultivate product technology visions and innovative solutions.
- Working knowledge of master data management
- Experience with CI / CD
