About the Role

Designblendz is seeking a highly motivated and NCIDQ certified Interior Designer to spearhead our growing Interior Design Department. As we expand our reach nationally, we are looking for a visionary leader who embodies the core values of our organization: never settle, honesty + integrity, passion, quality with quantity, leading by example, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop: Oversee interior design assignments from concept to completion with a sharp eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of project phases. You'll lead a team, fostering an environment of growth and development.
  • Build Relationships: Manage and nurture existing client relationships while exploring new opportunities to expand our project scope both locally and nationally.
  • Communicate Effectively: Ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication across project teams and with clients, enhancing our reputation for reliability and client satisfaction.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with leadership in the preparation and presentation of project proposals, bringing creative and strategic insights to the table.
  • Vendor and Resource Management: Maintain and enhance our resource library by updating vendor contacts and ensuring relevant and up-to-date materials are accessible to all staff.
  • Promote Design Excellence: Act as an ambassador for Designblendz's portfolio, guiding and educating others about our work while advocating for creativity and design excellence.
  • Business Development: Engage in activities that promote business growth, including marketing initiatives, attending conferences, and participating in interviews.
  • Portfolio Management: Direct the creation and submission of design competitions or award entries and manage project photography and descriptions to build the firm's portfolio.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in Interior Design: A solid understanding of interior design principles, compliance with industry codes and standards, and proficiency in creating detailed schematic designs, design development, and construction documents.
  • Revit Proficiency: As we are a Revit-based office, working knowledge of Revit is highly regarded.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and mentor an internal team as well as collaborate with external groups. A strong desire to guide team members and lead by example in line with our core values.
  • Project Management: Proven experience managing the entirety of design projects, including overseeing fee structures, team coordination, schedules, and budgets.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: A proactive and dynamic approach to problem solving, capable of delivering innovative solutions and driving project success.
  • Strong Communicator: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business development principles, financial measures, and the ability to support project proposals and budget considerations effectively.
