Summary: It is the responsibility of the Quality Assurance Technician to ensure quality product is produced in the plant according to specifications.

FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY NOTE: Every employee is obligated and responsible to ensure that they follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Guidelines, and Food Quality Objectives and process procedures to protect our customers from any potential health hazards or unacceptable food quality. They are also responsible to any food safety or quality issues to a Supervisor immediately.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Assure good food safety procedures are followed
  • Assure compliance to customer expectations and specifications
  • Monitor and inspect product to verify that specifications of finished goods are met.
  • Conducts audits and verifications of Critical Control and Preventative Control Points in accordance with facility HACCP/HARPC plans.
  • Conducts regular checks of critical quality control systems points and analyzes results to identify trends in product quality & food safety information. Communicates findings and assists in corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Implements continuous improvement through utilization of, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Assist in maintaining general cleanliness throughout the facility
  • Monitors GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance throughout the facility
  • Assists in efforts to educate and train the workforce on food quality & food safety issues. Assists with conducting training for plant employees and regularly follows up with employees to ensure that they understand the requirements of their jobs.

  • Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
  • Promotes safety in all areas of operations.
Sanitation:
  • Maintains cleanliness of the work area.
  • Follows proper G. M. P.'s at all times.
Essential Job Functions/Requirements:
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of experience & technical training.
  • Must be able to count and perform basic math.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to perform all duties so as not to produce damage.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours per day or more.
  • Must be physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
  • Understanding of sanitation and pest control practices
  • Familiarity with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards
  • Strong computer, document management skills and attention to details
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support other shifts when needed
  • Solid understanding of a production / manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and quality system requirements -HACCP/HARPC, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP), etc.

    The pay range for this position is $22-28 per hour and includes health, dental, and vision benefits, and a 401k matching plan.
