The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant, collaborative environment that encourages growth and innovation. This role involves providing legal advice and representation on a broad range of maritime issues, including but not limited to, the Defense Base Act (DBA) and other maritime-related litigation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, a passion for maritime law, and a commitment to providing excellent legal services.Responsibilities: Provide expert legal counsel and representation on a wide array of maritime legal issues, including DBA and other maritime-related litigation. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy development. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to maritime operations and activities. Represent clients in court, arbitration, or mediation proceedings as needed. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction. Stay updated on the latest developments and trends in maritime law and DBA to provide the most effective advice and representation. Comply with all legal standards and regulations, maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical conduct.Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. A minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney with a focus on maritime law and DBA. Must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the ability to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in litigation, preferably in maritime law and DBA. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand complex legal issues and provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice. Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful dispute resolution. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients in court and other legal proceedings. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines. Proficient in legal research tools and software.
