We're expanding our internal Growth team in San Francisco and are seeking a seasoned Senior Full-stack / Frontend Engineer- Growth to play a critical role in advancing our monetization and retention efforts. About the Role The Growth team's goal is to make it exceptionally easy for people around the world to discover, trial, buy, and use our suite of products and services. As a result, our team is responsible for driving sustainable business growth by increasing acquisition, monetization, conversion, and retention throughout the end-to-end customer funnel. We use experimentation, customer feedback, and data-driven insights to guide our work and optimize the customer experience. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver enhanced value to our customers, ensuring they not only choose Productboard but also remain engaged and increase their usage over time. Key Focus Areas Monetization Optimization: Refine our pricing strategies and feature packaging. This includes evaluating how functionalities are offered across different pricing tiers, optimizing the balance between feature availability and user satisfaction, and devising innovative methods to increase customer willingness to pay. Retention Enhancement: Dive deep into customer behavior data to uncover trends and patterns leading to churn. Use these insights to guide the development of features and enhancements that drive user engagement, reduce churn, and boost customer lifetime value. Product-Qualified Lead Development: Collaborate on building a robust system to identify Product Qualified Leads (PQLs) and connect them with our Sales team, ensuring high-value customers are effectively nurtured and converted. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Collaborate with product, data, and design to build and test experiments focused on improving retention and monetization metrics. Lead growth engineering initiatives, sharing best practices and lessons learned across the organization. Play a key role in roadmap planning, advocating for technical initiatives that support our monetization and retention goals, and clearly articulating their value to key stakeholders. Our Tech Stack As a Senior Full-stack Growth Engineer, you'll leverage your expertise in both frontend and backend technologies within the following stack: Frontend: TypeScript, React.js Backend: Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, Kafka Storage: Postgres, OpenSearch, Redis Data Pipeline: Python, Keboola, Looker, Snowflake Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform About You Experience: 5 years of experience in building web applications with a strong emphasis on both frontend and backend development. Growth Expertise: Demonstrated success in tackling growth-related challenges, particularly in monetization and retention. Collaborative Mindset: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Go To Market) to drive business outcomes. Strategic Insight: Deep understanding of key business KPIs such as conversion, engagement, retention, and churn. Leadership & Initiative: Strong ability to take ownership of projects, drive them to completion, and influence the direction of initiatives beyond your immediate responsibilities. Adaptability & Technical Versatility: Comfortable working within other teams' codebases (guest dev) and rallying support for growth initiatives. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Proficient in using A/B testing tools (Optimizely, LaunchDarkly) for rapid iteration and employing BI tools (Looker, Amplitude, MixPanel) to measure impact.
