Join our team and contribute to the development, implementation, test engineering, and quality assurance of innovative imaging/video processing algorithms, Dolby Vision, and related technologies. You'll be mentored by our experienced senior engineers, and your work will play a crucial role in shaping our overall product and technology roadmap.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Engage in software development for test frameworks and create test setups/experiments related to entertainment consumer devices platforms.
  2. Design, develop, and execute test cases aimed at evaluating a variety of innovative Dolby Imaging/Video algorithms and software on macOS or iOS devices.
  3. Test and assess Dolby Vision video processing technologies and new features for reliability, accuracy, and usability.
  4. Provide feedback on specific features and document all bugs and issues encountered during automated testing.
  5. Thrive in a fast-paced working environment; experience with Agile teamwork is a plus.
  6. Collaborate with technical writers to provide and review technical data for inclusion in technical publications.
  7. Maintain and enhance the test setup, including hardware, software, and test automation environments.
  8. Help define best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing, and release management.
  9. Create tools for internal use to support software engineering best practices.
  10. Produce and maintain useful and usable documentation of your work.


Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with a passion for multimedia technologies and 8+ years of experience in professional imaging and/or system and application engineering.
  2. Expertise with one or more scripting languages (e.g., PERL, Python, BASH) is expected.
  3. Experience with video codecs and compression standards such as H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, and knowledge of common video analysis tools, HDMI, and video perceptual quality testing.
  4. Experience working with streaming technologies and protocols including HLS, PIFF, Smooth Streaming, PlayReady, MPEG-DASH, MP4 containers, and ASF.
  5. Technical skills and knowledge of streaming, broadcast, MVPD content distribution systems, and architectures are highly desirable.
  6. Experience with at least one automation testing framework, such as Pytest, Selenium, or Appium, on operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Android, and iOS.
  7. Experience with various media frameworks (e.g., Android, Microsoft, Linux, and other leading operating systems) is required.
  8. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Exposure to Perforce or Git, Jira, and Salesforce.
  10. Testing experience with professional consumer electronics products.
  11. Knowledge of video technologies, cinema, and television production and post-production workflows.
  12. Experience in coding with C and/or C++.
  13. Knowledge of HDMI and DisplayPort specifications is a plus.
  14. Software development/testing experience on popular embedded system platforms (such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino) is a plus.
  15. Knowledge of HDR technologies such as Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG is a plus.
  16. Performance testing, monitoring, and debugging experience is a plus.

The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is $133,100 - $182,800, which can vary if outside this location, plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
