Director, Software Engineering - Enterprise Identity

The Director of Software Engineering is in the Enterprise Identity organization with oversight of software engineering initiatives providing Authentication, Authorization, Identity Verification, Session Management, and Step Up Authentication capabilities to 100+ Million customers. As a Director of Software Engineering in the Identity team, you will further the usage of Identity open standards and cutting-edge technology, leading full stack teams with strong Software Engineering (SWE) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) expertise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence innovative solutions. Additionally, you will proactively identify opportunities to enhance relationships with our partners across the enterprise.
As part of this role, you'll work on designing cloud-native solutions and will have the opportunity to work on emerging technologies such as AWS, Java, Spring, Python, IAM, DevOps, and Cloud Native architectures and design.
You will:
- Lead multiple delivery teams and coach the team through their career development and performance
- Develop the technical strategy, roadmap, and vision for the platforms you own
- Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios - Continuously improve software engineering practices
- Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack development tools and technologies
- Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
- Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
- Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering or software development
- At least 5 years of experience in people management
- At least 5 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or software development
- 8+ years of experience architecting and delivering software systems or platforms
- 6+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- 5+ years of experience developing in Golang, Python, Java, or Scala
- 5+ years of experience in open source frameworks
- 2+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management
