The Institutional Giving Officer (IGO) is a key member of Emancipet's development team, responsible for securing financial support from institutional funders, including foundations and government agencies. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with institutional donors, managing grant applications, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements. The IGO plays an essential role in the organization's fundraising strategy, working closely with senior staff, clinic directors, and other team members to align institutional funding with the organization's mission and goals.

You'll be responsible for:
- Grant Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to identify, cultivate, and secure institutional funding from foundations and government sources.
- Research and identify new institutional funding opportunities to support the organization's programs and initiatives.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current funding trends, priorities, and grantmaking policies of relevant institutions.
- Manage the calendar with all upcoming deadlines, reporting, and more.
- Grant Writing and Reporting
- Lead the writing of compelling grant proposals, applications, and letters of inquiry to institutional funders.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information and data for proposals, reports, and other donor communications.
- Prepare and submit timely grant reports and ensure compliance with the reporting requirements of institutional funders.
- Maintain a calendar of proposal deadlines, reporting schedules, and follow-up actions for institutional funders.
- Donor Stewardship and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with foundation program officers and government agency representatives.
- Engage in proactive communication with funders to keep them informed of the organization's work, progress, and outcomes.
- Ensure institutional funders are acknowledged and stewarded appropriately, including providing regular updates on the impact of their support.
- Assist in organizing funder site visits, meetings, and special events to engage and strengthen relationships with institutional donors.
- Collaboration and Internal Coordination
- Work closely with senior management, finance, and clinic leadership to align fundraising strategies with organizational priorities and ensure the accuracy of budget and programmatic information.
- Collaborate with the broader development team to align institutional giving with individual major gifts, corporate giving, and special events fundraising efforts.
- Provide training and guidance to Emancipet leaders on preparing materials and reports for institutional funders.
- Fundraising Metrics and Reporting
- Track and report on the progress of institutional giving, including setting and meeting fundraising goals and objectives.
- Maintain detailed records of proposals, awards, and communications in the donor management system (CRM): NPSP - Salesforce
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on fundraising progress and institutional donor trends.
- Compliance and Ethical Standards
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those related to tax-exempt status, reporting requirements, and ethical fundraising practices.
- Oversee the proper use of grant funds, ensuring they are allocated and spent in accordance with donor agreements.

You'll need to have:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in institutional giving or grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Demonstrated success in securing grants and managing relationships with institutional funders.
- Strong understanding of the institutional giving landscape, including foundations, and government funding sources.
- Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling grant proposals and reports.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of Salesforce.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite, and grant management tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
