The Role
Reporting to SVP of Finance, the Accounting Manager assists and oversees all aspects of accounting, auditing and financial reporting.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee all general ledger accounting activities
Report directly to SVP Finance and will work closely with senior leadership and with every functional team at Canvas Worldwide
Supervise Sr. Accounting Analyst and Accounting Analyst in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
Be a good mentor to Sr. Accounting Analyst and Accounting Analyst
Actively participate in Weekly Finance Manager Meetings with positive attitudes
Identify potential accounting issues in advance and share recommended solutions with SVP Finance
Own all general ledger accounting activities including monthly P&L reporting, and Balance Sheet reconciliations, and quarterly HQ reporting
Continue to enhance monthly financial closing activities (preliminary closing by End of Day 2)
Assist in the creation and maintenance of Accounting Policies and Procedures
Lead quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by third-party auditors
Work with Business Central (Microsoft Financial System) consultants to make continuous improvements
Develop and administer the internal accounting control system
Investigate and research accounting questions related to internal and external reporting issues to ensure that financial activity is recorded in a manner consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures and GAAP
Assist SVP Finance to develop, implement and maintain internal controls in the general accounting area
Work closely with third-party tax preparer to ensure all tax returns are filed in timely manner
Respond to ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special assignments, as needed
Interact with HQ and RHQ Accounting Teams on a regular basis
Support FP&A Team with annual budgeting activities
Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be an analytical and critical thinker with the ability to dig deep into the details but present high-level findings to management
Excellent MS Excel skills and experience with ERP systems are a must.
Detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work within a team environment
Be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly
Experience & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field required
Over 8 years of Accounting (in-charge experience on monthly, quarterly, yearly financial closing) experience required
CPA is a plus
Experience in Public Accounting is a plus
Experience with Microsoft (Business Central) is a plus
Experience in Marketing, Media and Advertising industries is a plus
$120,000 - $130,000 a year
Salary and Benefits Actual base salary is determined upon factors such as experience, qualifications, training, certifications, and internal equity. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Base salary is part of a total rewards package that includes highly competitive benefits like generous medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, commuter benefits, disability and life insurance coverage, 401(k) matching, up to 14 holidays per year, a “Do Good Day,” and unlimited PTO. In-Office Work Schedule This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 days in-office per week.
