Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting department processes and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role will manage the accounting month-end, quarter-end and year-end close and, must be able to collaborate effectively with auditors and internal departments. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for forecasting, developing annual budgets, and providing accurate financial insights and analysis to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep accounting knowledge, and the ability to drive process improvements.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting department processes and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role will manage the accounting month-end, quarter-end and year-end close and, must be able to collaborate effectively with auditors and internal departments. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for forecasting, developing annual budgets, and providing accurate financial insights and analysis to support business decisions. Responsibilities
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for both the corporate office and plant locations.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow records
- Analyze financial data to provide insights on performance and cost-saving opportunities
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor budget variances and report on financial performance
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Coordinate and support internal and external financial reviews and audits. Act as one of the key contacts for external auditors.
- Provide financial insights to support management decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance department efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead and participate in various accounting projects
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of cost accounting principles for manufacturing environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably JDE
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Pay Range $100,000 to $110,000
