The Opportunity - Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will provide day-to-day management and oversight of Accounting and Finance functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and be proficient in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, processing accurate payroll and managing the accounting team to support our organization's financial health.

The Opportunity - Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager will provide day-to-day management and oversight of Accounting and Finance functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills and be proficient in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, processing accurate payroll and managing the accounting team to support our organization's financial health.
Accounting Manager Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years practicing accounting and finance support. Construction accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with payroll processing and compliance regulations as well as payroll related reporting.
- Must be highly proficient in Quickbooks desktop and Quickbooks online. Also need high proficiency in MS Office and Excel skills.
- Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills are necessary for daily interaction with staff and management across the business.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices associated with GAAP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Oversee bookkeepers and manage day-to-day accounting operations. Coordinate questions to ensure accuracy with all data entry classifications into the accounting system.
- Manage the month and year-end close process for multiple legal entities, including preparation of P&L & Balance Sheet. Provide analytical review.
- Prepare internal reports for senior management as needed. Assist with the preparation of key performance indicators reporting weekly/monthly.
- Oversee Accounts Receivables associates and ensure timely collections of payments and accurate posting of payments to customer accounts.
- Coordinate with vendors regarding Accounts Payables issues/new accounts. Responsible for scheduled check runs in conjunction with cash flow management.
- Complete annual pre-qualification applications, insurance renewal applications, and financial recertifications.
- Conduct and oversee work in process (WIP) accounting functions such as job cost reports analysis and accuracy in monthly draw requests.
- Process payroll on opposite weeks as H/R to ensure effective cross-training. Responsible for all monthly, quarterly (UTC-6, 940, & 941), and yearly (W-2) payroll/workers comp reporting.
- Assist in annual budgeting process by providing data analysis and future outlook presentations.
- Maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting principles.
