Salary Description
$80,000 - $85,000 per year
The Accounting Manager is responsible for financial management of Baldwin Real Estate Corporation's portfolio of commercial and market rate residential properties within the Baldwin finance department. Key responsibilities include maintaining the property ledgers, performing variance analysis, setting up and maintaining recovery pool for commercial properties, overseeing payroll allocations for the properties.
Essential Functions:
- Act as a team lead within Baldwin's accounting group for a portfolio of assests, providing support to the Controller with resources from various operations, accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable staff.
- Oversee various bank reconciliations, analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to proper accounting standards. Research and resolve errors for portfolio of properties prepared by staff accountant(s);
- Responsible for providing summary reports representing cash needs for individual properties;
- Complete monthly financial reporting packages including variance and other analysis for management for portfolio of properties;
- Maintain, review and prepare quarterly financial packages for banks;
- Assist our external CPA firms with the annual tax requirements for the properties;
- Work closely with commercial property managers: to set up and maintain recovery pools for multiple properties; review and analyze billings for commercial properties;
- Work closely with Residential Property Managers on annual budgets;
- Oversee payroll processing and allocation for multiple entities, oversee the benefits allocation processing;
- Oversee period close for various MRI modules: AP, GL, CM;
- Provide support to the other accounting staff with MRI;
- Work on other projects in the department.
- Any other tasks deemed necessary by management.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting is required. CPA or CMA strongly desired.
- Broad knowledge of accounting and auditing is required. Previous commercial and residential housing real estate experience is desired.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible experience.
- Proficiency in the use Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), MRI or other accounting software.
