Cloud Data Architect Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Cloud Data Architect to design, implement, and oversee our cloud data infrastructure with a strategic focus on data management and utilization. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS data tools, architecture design, and the ability to align data solutions with the organization's long-term goals. The ideal candidate will not only be a technical expert but also have a strategic mindset to envision and guide the organization's data strategy, ensuring a robust, scalable, and efficient data environment that supports business needs. Key Responsibilities Data Architecture Design and Implementation: Develop and implement cloud-based data architecture that supports scalable, high-performance data processing and storage. Ensure alignment with organizational goals, leveraging AWS data tools and best practices. Data Strategy Development: Collaborate with leadership to define and execute a data strategy that supports current and future business needs. Drive initiatives to optimize data flow, integration, and utilization across all platforms. AWS Data Tools Management: Utilize AWS data services such as Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Glue, and S3 to create and manage a cohesive data environment. Ensure data tools are optimized for performance, security, and scalability. Data Governance and Compliance Adherence: Ensure all data practices align with established data governance and compliance standards, working closely with teams to maintain consistency and security across the data ecosystem. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Engage with data engineers, analysts, and business units to understand requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. Promote a unified vision for data management, fostering alignment across departments. Technical Skills Cloud Data Architecture Expertise: Extensive experience designing and implementing data architectures on AWS, including a solid understanding of distributed computing and data warehousing concepts. AWS Data Tools Proficiency: Strong proficiency in AWS data services such as Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Glue, and S3, with experience in optimizing performance and cost efficiency. Data Strategy Vision: Ability to see the larger picture of data strategy, understanding how data architecture impacts business objectives and decision-making. Data Security and Compliance: Familiarity with data security protocols and compliance standards, ensuring data practices adhere to regulatory requirements. Programming and Scripting: Familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar languages for data manipulation and infrastructure automation. Qualifications This is a fully remote role, but candidates are required to be reside and work in the continental United States. Must be able to work East Coast (EST) time zone hours. Candidates are required to be legally authroized to work in the United States without a sponsoring employer indefinitely. We can only accept the following: US Citizens, GC Holder, GC EAD. Candidates must be able to work on a W2 contract. We can NOT do C2C arrangements. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience: Minimum of 7 years in data architecture or cloud architecture roles, with a focus on AWS data tools and strategic data management. Additional Skills: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience guiding data strategy initiatives in collaboration with business leadership. LI-SM6 DICE LI-REMOTE
