The Archdiocese of Chicago, the third largest in the United States, serves more than 2.2 million Catholics in 216 parishes in Cook County and Lake County, a geographic area of 1,411 square miles. Responsibilities listed are not limited to other duties assigned: Performance of all clerical and communication tasks related to jail ministry and jail volunteers, including but not limited to: Credentialing all jail volunteers. Maintaining attendance records and post-visit reports of jail volunteers Maintaining attendance records of all detainee participants and remitting to jail administration as required. Provides certificates of completion to participants. Communication with jail volunteers on any subject. Coordination of any gatherings of jail volunteers, such as monthly theological reflection meetings, and recording minutes as requested. Assuring all devotional materials to be distributed in the jail are DE stapled, including organizing volunteers for this task each month. Recycling all outdated devotional materials promptly. Monitoring and responding to all in-jail volunteer notifications in Salesforce. Organizing and distributing Mass kits to KH priests when needed. Attend monthly meetings of CCDOC staff and Jail Ministry Coordinator. Manage scheduling for re-entry volunteers, including making substitutions when volunteers are absent. Respond to new volunteer inquiries, screen and refer to appropriate staff person. Assist in communications with organization-wide volunteer body. Create new email and Salesforce accounts for new volunteers. Such other tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee. Assist Ministry Coordinator, Executive Director and staff with the coordination the scheduling and work of in-jail and reentry volunteers. Requirements: Must have organization skills who can multi-task with little supervision. Experience working with government agencies and justice-involved individuals is preferred.
