Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Department/Group: Finance

Reports To: CEO

Primary Purpose of Position: As the Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as our financial architect of our climate-friendly credit union, steering our financial strategies and ensuing sustainable growth. Your role is pivotal in shaping our financial future. Your responsibilities include strategic financial leadership, driving our plans, policies and accounting practices to align with our growth. Oversees the regulatory reporting, budgeting and accounting standards while managing our asset liability management. Leads our financial control activities, interfaces with external auditors and NCUA examiners, and safeguards our assets. Develops and coordinates necessary and appropriate accounting and statistical data and reports to guide strategic decisions. Counsels management on fiscal control and profitability ensuring fair measurement and presentation of financial results under U.S. GAAP. Provides leadership, training and supervision to accounting and finance teams fostering a culture of excellence. Job Description Essential Functions: Oversees all daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities. Responsible for identifying and placing appropriate investments to maximize gains under the direction of the CEO Communicates with the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Committee, and management regarding strategic recommendations, financial results, and policies which affect the credit union. Ensure that these communications are timely, accurate, and adequately informed about matters. Presents financials at monthly Board meetings. Collaborates with management on projects, programs, and events to create budgets, then regularly monitors results to ensure we are staying within budgeted guidelines. Ensures accurate preparation and timely submission of regulatory reports including Call Reports (Form 5300). Assists NCUA examiners, Supervisory Committee and independent auditors to ensure they receive the necessary information to perform their reviews. Manages direct reports in both a report to maximize productivity, efficiency, and potential This includes hiring, directing job responsibilities, monitoring performance, providing coaching, training, assuring compliance with regulator requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules. Promotes a culture of teamwork. Appraises performance and provides recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate. Prepares relevant reports for the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and serves as an active voting member to the committee. Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance and streamline internal operations. Oversees accounts payable and vendor management, including required periodic vendor due diligence and contract renewal negotiations. Oversees electronic payments to ensure efficient, timely processing and full compliance with all FRB and NACHA rules. Oversees the annual budget cycle. Coordinates periodic Asset Liability Management testing and builds and maintains related financial models. Works with the VP of Sustainability and Dealer Relations to ensure compliance with Loan Loss Reserve programs and audits to ensure proper coverage. Participates in establishing the strategic direction of the credit union by developing plans with the management team. Fosters a culture of innovation and sustainability, encouraging the development of new financial products and services that support the credit unions mission and goals. Must comply with all credit union policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Responsible for researching compliance with new and existing technical accounting issues. Supports credit union staff as needed. Performs other tasks and duties as assigned. Financial Acumen : Deep understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and accounting principles, especially within the context of U.S. GAAP Education and Work Experience

Four-year college degree in business with specialization in accounting or finance. Minimum five years' experience in budget forecasting and regulatory reporting, while adhering to generally accepted accounting principles and all State and Federal regulations. Minimum five years' experience in a leadership role in a financial institution with at least two of which are in a Credit Union. Certified Public Accountant CPA. Experience with Wisdom Accounting a plus. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent Math, Communication, and Analytical skills.
