This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse spacecraft development engineers, you will have technical responsibility for the integrated Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) product and performance. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing our New Lunar Vehicle that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. You will provide broad and deep GN&C domain expertise to ensure the technical product meets program requirements and expectations. You will lead and approve GN&C subsystem-level technical design decisions, as well as collaborate with other subsystem teams to ensure design coordination to meet the vehicle performance requirements. You will provide technical leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate GN&C subsystem risks. You will provide engineering leadership and mentoring to coordinate subsystem level design, analysis, and testing throughout development, verification, delivery, and operation. You will report to the GN&C Integrated Product Team Manager. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications: M.S. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or related subject areas with at least 10 years of design experience

Demonstrated advanced knowledge in the development of spacecraft GN&C systems

Experience in full development lifecycle of GN&C subsystem on at least one aerospace program

Extensive experience in development and analysis of GN&C algorithms and flight software

Experience in development and testing of navigation sensors and control actuators

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized and capable of guiding complex technical work

Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced, and driven work environment

Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired: Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering or related subject areas

Demonstrated experience leading full development lifecycle of GN&C subsystem in at least one aerospace program

Demonstrated advanced knowledge in the development of planetary spacecraft GN&C systems

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with development of descent and landing software for planetary missions

Experience with NASA design and certifications standards for human spaceflight

Experience with NASA certification of flight readiness process for a new system

Experience working on large complex programs with multiple partners

Compensation Range for: CO applicants is $153,636.00-$215,090.40;WA applicants is $167,088.00-$233,923.20
