Salary:
DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Represent clients across diverse insurance defense cases, including personal injury, property damage, professional liability, and commercial litigation. Handle complex legal issues from the preliminary investigation phase through trial preparation and settlement negotiations. Draft, file, and argue legal pleadings, motions, and discovery documents. Conduct in-depth depositions of involved parties, witnesses, and expert consultants. Appear on behalf of clients in court hearings, mediation sessions, and other legal proceedings. Provide comprehensive and timely legal advice to clients, ensuring they are well-informed on case developments, associated risks, and strategic actions. Develop effective professional relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and peers within the legal community. Collaborate with senior attorneys to refine case strategies and participate in legal research. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on insurance laws, tort laws, and procedural rules relevant to trial advocacy. Minimum Position Qualifications: Must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Current admission to the Texas State Bar. At least 3-8 years of experience in various facets of insurance defense, including premises liability and general liability. In-depth understanding of Texas civil procedures, insurance regulations, and defense methodologies. Demonstrated legal research, writing, and strong oral advocacy skills. Proven track record of managing multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines. Hands-on experience in depositions, hearings, and motion practices. Outstanding client-service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Exceptional attention to detail and a robust work ethic. Preferred Qualifications: Significant trial experience or a strong interest in leading trial cases. Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and modern case management systems. Skills: Expert negotiation and conflict resolution abilities. Strategic thinker with analytical problem-solving skills. Robust organizational skills to handle high caseloads effectively. Adaptability and resilience under pressure. Technological proficiency, particularly with legal research tools and case management software.
