The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, is seeking an established clinical researcher with both MD and PhD and a background in vascular endothelial function, arterial stiffness, and cell-based assays for a full-time faculty position. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Adjunct series, depending on qualifications. Faculty in the Adjunct Professor series are individuals who are predominantly engaged in research or other creative work and who participate in teaching, or individuals who contribute primarily to teaching and have a limited responsibility for research or other creative work; these individuals may be professional practitioners of appropriate distinction. Appointees with titles in this series also engage in University and public service consistent with their assignments. Requirements

Applicants must have extensive experience in studies of endothelial and vascular function/dysfunction, for example with measurement of arterial flow-mediated dilation and multiple measures of arterial stiffness in humans, culture of conduit vessel and microvascular endothelial cells, and other measures of endothelial function. Applicant must have proven track record of designing and implementing clinical studies, including leading teams of researchers and research coordinators, recruitment, IRB applications, and coordination of clinical study rooms and infrastructure. Applicants must have a strong record of first author (or equivalent) publications about endothelial function, arterial stiffness, and cardiac electrophysiology, including published studies of adverse cardiovascular effects of smoking and vaping, in respectable journals. We are particularly interested in research programs focused on cannabis use, smoking and secondhand smoke in relation to vascular function and disease. Applicants must have proven track record of successful fellowship and grant writing and must be or have been PI of an extramural postdoctoral fellowship and of multiple grants. Applicant must hold both a PhD and MD and have completed both postdoctoral fellowship and clinical residency. Preferred/Desirable Qualifications

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $110,500-$333,700.
