Role: The Senior Director of U.S. Neuropsychiatry Communications will lead comprehensive, strategic communication efforts to position COBENFY as a leader in schizophrenia and related areas. This includes developing and executing high-impact communication strategies that align with business objectives to drive COBENFY’s success and enhance brand value. Working closely with U.S. Commercialization and Corporate Affairs, this role will build awareness around the unmet medical needs in schizophrenia and psychosis in Alzheimer’s disease, and help deliver on business objectives, positioning BMS as a leader in neuropsychiatry. The Senior Director will also oversee reputational issues and proactively manage risk. This individual is a results-oriented leader with a high degree of confidence in engaging, building trust with, and influencing key stakeholders, including media, trade associations, and senior leadership. They will leverage these skills to advocate for Bristol Myers Squibb and strengthen the company’s reputation in biopharma. This strategic thinker will have deep expertise in corporate, healthcare policy, and U.S. regulatory landscapes and be adept at mobilizing internal and external stakeholders to support BMS. As an effective manager of direct and matrix teams, the Senior Director will have proven experience in implementing large-scale consumer initiatives in collaboration with business partners and external agencies. Responsibilities: Drive long-term success of COBENFY, building an integrated brand and above-brand communications strategy to support this first-in-class treatment for schizophrenia. Key components include media relations, brand & corporate communications, employee engagement, patient advocacy, corporate reputation, and issues management. Thoughtfully establish communications to support product and pipeline milestones, including launches, new indications, disease awareness initiatives, and thought leadership. Oversee the neuropsychiatry narrative and brand identity, as well as the development and evolution of all communication materials (owned, media, social), to enhance corporate visibility to position BMS as a leader in neuropsychiatry. Lead and implement communications strategies that support Bristol Myers Squibb’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, with a particular focus on advancing health equity in neuropsychiatry. Maintain broad-based knowledge of COBENFY and BMS neuropsychiatric research and development pipeline and business strategies to enable content development and review of communications materials. Manage product-specific public relations, including regulatory updates, launch messaging, and disease awareness initiatives to enhance product adoption and awareness. Deliver appropriate communications strategies to maximize communications opportunities and mitigate relevant risks to the company and its assets. Develop and execute mutually beneficial, U.S.-focused initiatives with patient organizations and patient opinion leaders. Lead the development and execution of the internal communications and employee engagement strategy. Manage multiple external providers/agency support for best outcomes, in alignment with Sourcing Policies. Requirements: The successful candidate has at least 12 years of experience in brand, commercial, or corporate communications, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. Bachelor’s degree required, Communications or a related field preferred. Proven experience driving successful product lifecycle strategy in coordination with business partners in support of enterprise priorities. Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and across the business. Strong management and leadership skills. Superior written and interpersonal communication skills. Able to quickly learn the business and operate within a complex, fast-paced, and changing environment.
