The Radiation Therapist II, under the supervision of the Radiation Therapist Supervisor and at the instruction of the department physicians, provides radiation therapy to patients utilizing a variety of radiation equipment. This position will be located at our South Lake Union campus and float to our community sites as needed. Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the Radiation Therapist II will perform all of the duties of a Radiation Therapist; regularly assign, instruct and check the work of Radiation Therapists and other assigned staff. Has acquired competency in multiple specialized treatment modalities and methods including Total Body Irradiation, IMRT, IGRT, and Fractionated Stereotactic. Orient and train Radiation Therapists, other staff members, and a variety of students; make recommendations regarding performance evaluations. Organize the scheduling of radiation therapy procedures and Radiation Therapist staffing. Assist with tumor localization procedures, primarily for registration and training for XVI and Surface Guidance (where applicable), CTsim, and iView. Assist with the development and testing of new radiation techniques. Ability to schedule patients in Epic when needed. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Radiation Therapy or related field. 2+ years of relevant experience. Registry eligible and registered within 1 year of employment in Radiation Therapy and Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Washington State License. Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear, concise, and professional manner. Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities and demands. Ability to assess patients' conditions and request assistance when necessary. Ability to assist in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, carts, and radiographic tables. Preferred: Leadership equivalent experience is a strong plus. Proficient in email and word processing systems. Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
