The AVP UofL Health Philanthropy is responsible for advancing philanthropic support of UofL Health’s strategic priorities. Affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, UofL Health is committed to providing patients with access to the most advanced care available. This includes patient care, clinical trials, collaboration on research and the development of new technologies to both save and improve lives. UofL Health is a fully integrated regional academic health system with nine hospitals, four medical centers, Brown Cancer Center, Eye Institute, nearly 200 physician practice locations, and more than 1,000 providers in Louisville and the surrounding counties, including southern Indiana. This position reporting to the Vice President of Philanthropy at University of Louisville and working closely with the CEO of the UofL Health System will create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for the UofL Health System. The AVP for Philanthropy’s primary responsibilities will address UofL Health’s highest strategic funding priorities while leading a team of front-line fundraisers and donor relations professionals. In addition to serving as a lead fundraiser focusing on cultivating major gift prospects, the VP will provide management, strategic direction, and operational coordination of major gifts and fundraising operations. This will include annual and major donor development, donor relations and engagement, capital giving, fundraising events, corporate and foundation relations, and grateful patient fundraising. Responsibilities

The Associate Vice President will work collaboratively with the CEO of the UofL Health System and serve as the chief fundraiser for UofL Health and a member of the UofL Health executive management team. The Associate VP will build strong working relationships with hospital and board leadership, physician leaders, to successfully drive forward fundraising priorities while coordinating with the University of Louisville Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. As the chief fundraiser for UofL Health System, the AVP will advance the health system’s fundraising efforts by developing strong relationships with existing donors, while seeking out and engaging new donors. Develop and implement a strategic plan to secure transformational gifts. Manage the principal gift portfolio for UofL Health including surpassing annual metrics for the identification, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship of donors. Provide comprehensive and strategic leadership of the UofL Health Philanthropy team including annual giving, major giving, corporate/ foundation giving, fundraising events, donor relations, and fundraising communications functions. In conjunction with the senior management team, develop and implement the short and long-term vision and goals necessary to significantly increase the health system’s fundraising capabilities. Establish and execute a fundraising strategic plan by collaborating at multiple levels within a complex environment, including internally with leadership, clinicians, educators, and other stakeholders and externally with UofL Health board members. Provide updates and philanthropy education to UofL Health physicians, staff, and board leadership. Lead all activity for the UofL Health Foundation Board and serve as the UofL Health liaison to the UofL Foundation and UofL Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Serve as a community liaison to partner organizations. Qualifications

Master’s Degree and 10 years of fundraising experience preferably in a health care, hospital or academic medical center setting. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirement.
