Environmental Health and Safety Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our facility's EHS initiatives. This role involves strategic program development, rigorous compliance adherence, and leadership in safety education and training. The successful candidate will provide overarching support and direction to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Salary:
Dependent on Experience (DOE) per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic safety programs aligning with organizational goals, including defining performance objectives and measuring safety performance using KPIs. Maintain, develop, and issue safety standards and directives in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements to mitigate risks and liabilities. Assist in accident investigations, providing recommendations for preventive measures and maintaining accurate environmental and injury/illness records. Facilitate compliance with internal and external environmental safety standards through regular audits, inspections, and thorough recordkeeping. Act as the main point of contact for regulatory agency interactions, responsible for timely and accurate submission of all required EHS reports and documentation. Lead safety training sessions, prepare educational materials, and ensure all plant personnel are trained on necessary safety procedures and protocols. Coordinate and oversee the contractor and vendor compliance ensuring all external partners adhere to our safety standards. Administer critical safety programs including emergency response, security measures, and fire protection systems. Minimum Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational / Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing EHS programs within a manufacturing environment. Detailed knowledge of common and applicable industry environmental, health, and safety standards including OSHA and EPA regulations. Proven ability to develop and implement environmental and safety policies and training programs. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a proven record of developing effective solutions in safety program management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced certifications in EHS disciplines. Additional education or certification relevant to EHS management. Experience in the food manufacturing industry. Skills: Superior communication skills both verbal and written, enabling effective dissemination of safety information across all levels of the organization. Strong leadership skills with the ability to advocate and lead change in corporate safety culture. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in using EHS management systems and software for data management and compliance tracking. Commitment to continual improvement and learning in environmental, health, and safety disciplines.
