Senior Tax Manager

Salary:
DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity. Assumes full responsibility for larger tax returns and efficiently delegates tasks to various tax preparers as necessary. Ensures thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills necessary for advising clients are maintained. Manages client service tasks ensuring deliverables are accomplished within budgeted time. Oversees and coordinates tax research projects to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Directly handles and manages governmental tax examinations and may represent clients before appropriate taxing authorities. Maintains an overview of all tax staff members’ qualifications, appropriating staff assignments accordingly. Supervises tax staff, providing essential on-the-job training and support. Minimum Position Qualifications: Minimum of five to seven years' experience in public accounting, showing a proven progression in tax complexity and scope. At least one year of experience supervising and directing the work of tax preparers. Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Current and valid certified public accountant’s license is required. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in taxation preferred. Skills: Exceptional leadership and supervisory skills. Advanced knowledge in tax laws and regulations applicable to both SEC and closely held entities. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse client groups. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
