The Washington, DC office of Finnegan, one of the world’s leading and largest intellectual property law firms, is seeking a
Litigation Clerk . The Litigation Clerk will provide support for the Litigation Legal Assistant department and attorneys by performing a variety of duties during all stages of litigation, under the supervision of attorneys, case managers, or senior litigation staff. Responsibilities
Assist in all aspects of the preparation for trial and attend trial if needed. Assist with preparing routine correspondence to clients, maintaining correspondence and pleadings, and indexing and imaging as appropriate. Utilize litigation software such as Relativity. Assist with document productions, including checking, redacting, assisting in the distribution of documents. Maintain deposition files and deposition exhibits’ indices. Assist in the preparation of documents for witnesses’ depositions. Assist with the preparation of legal documents. Provide support to Litigation & Trial Support team members with special projects and overflow of routine responsibilities. Other assigned duties as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in a professional business environment preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including meeting platforms such as Teams and Zoom, and the ability to learn the software and databases used by the firm and its clients. Ability to research and use various research tools, including the Internet and court websites. Strong customer service skills, including written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be a self-starter, while also being comfortable taking direction from others. Ability to work under pressure, meet frequent deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to deal courteously and efficiently with attorneys, clients, administrative and support staff, and court staff, outside vendors, and professional peers.
