IP Biotechnology Patent Associate or Agent
Our client is seeking a talented Patent Associate or Agent with 3+ years of patent counseling experience, including preparation and prosecution, to join their nationally recognized Intellectual Property practice. This role is available in one of the following locations: Boston, Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, New York, San Diego, Silicon Valley, or Washington, DC. Alternate locations may be considered based on business needs and the candidate’s background.
Key Qualifications:
Educational Background:
PhD in the biological sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics) or a related field. Professional Credentials:
USPTO registration number is required. Experience:
Proficiency in drafting and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications, with a preference for candidates who have also prepared patent opinions in biotechnology or related technologies. Legal Expertise:
Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills. A JD from an ABA-accredited law school is required for attorney candidates. Agents must meet USPTO requirements. Bar Membership:
Attorney candidates must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar in their jurisdiction(s). Admission to the Bar in the state of the hiring office will be required as a condition of employment. Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess immediately transferable skills, top academic credentials, and prior law firm experience. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional written and oral communication abilities and a strong commitment to excellence. Application Requirements:

Our client offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $260,000, determined based on experience and job-related factors.
