François Ghebaly Gallery seeks an ambitious and dynamic
Gallery Director
to lead sales efforts, support artist development, and contribute to the gallery’s curatorial programming. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to balance commercial objectives with artistic integrity, building meaningful relationships across the global art ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Sales & Market Development Drive sales during gallery exhibitions, art fairs, and private viewings, providing expertise and insights to collectors. Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies Cultivate and expand a high-level client network, including private collectors, advisors, and institutions. Artist Liaison Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the gallery’s artists. Coordinate with artists to support their studio practice and exhibition planning. Advocate for artists with curators, institutions, and collectors to secure placements, exhibitions, and acquisitions. Curatorial Development Collaborate with the gallery team to conceptualize and execute innovative exhibitions and programming that align with the gallery’s vision. Oversee exhibition planning and installation, working closely with artists, curators, and the gallery team to achieve exceptional presentations. Team Leadership Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Qualifications Proven experience in a director role within a contemporary art gallery or similar institution. Strong knowledge of the contemporary art market and trends. Established relationships with artists, collectors, curators, and institutions. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage complex projects. A proactive, results-driven mindset with a passion for contemporary art. Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
