Notre Dame Preparatory School, an independent, Catholic school for girls in grades 6-12 in Towson, is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of College Counseling. Founded in 1873, the school currently enrolls 845 students and has approximately 200 full and part-time employees. The right candidate will enjoy working in a mission-driven, religious educational setting. Employment is full-time for eleven months. Annual schedule is August 1 to June 30 with the month of July off.
The Assistant Director of College Counseling reports directly to the Director of School Counseling and is responsible for administering all aspects of the college search and admission process.
Specific duties and responsibilities including the following:
Educate students and parents regarding the comprehensive college admission process.
Provide academic advising and reviewing of progress reports and report cards.
Coordinate and present all college information events for students and parents.
Meet with college admission representatives throughout the school year at NDP as well as on college campuses and plan and host two college fairs in the fall.
Actively cultivate and maintain strong relationships with college admission personnel.
Utilize technology used at NDP including Blackbaud platform (PrepNet) Microsoft Office products, SCOIR, Canva, Share Point.
Skilled in analyzing and utilizing student academic data to facilitate college and coursework advising process.
Write individual and personalized letters of recommendations for a caseload of seniors (between 45 and 60 students).
Collaborate to create curriculum for and teach Junior and Senior College Seminar Classes.
Conduct individual Junior Student-Parent College Conferences.
Create and Publish Monthly Scholarship Bulletin.
Update PrepNet class pages with all relevant information on a weekly basis.
Contribute to Monthly Counseling Newsletter.
Update and maintain NCAA records.
Oversee coordination of and proctoring of all standardized testing (AP, PSAT, SAT).
Pursue ongoing professional development by attending conferences and college tours.
Stay abreast of college admission trends and contribute to annual college admission report.
Assist the Director of Counseling with general oversight of the college counseling program.
Complete all duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and college counseling experience working in a secondary school environment or college admission experience. A minimum of five years related work experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Candidates will have strong organizational skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. The ability to work collaboratively and think strategically is necessary, as well as the ability to build effective relationships with all stakeholders.
Annual salary is $57,500 to $62,500 based upon experience.NDP offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental and vision), spending accounts (HCSA, HSA, FSA.
