responsible for the active coordination, administration, and support of the continuous improvement program. Develop and implement processes that engage the workforce to be active participants in our continuous lean journey across all shifts. Promote the Platform's Lean Program and Improvement Initiatives. The Continuous Improvement Leader will need to be demonstrate the ability to be a change agent, self-motivated, results orientated, innovative, and display the ability to develop and execute a plan of action that yields positive outcomes to achieve manufacturing excellence. Essential Duties: Create and deploy the strategy, delivering sustainable and measurable results Serves as a resource to the organization to problem solve both internal and external issues. The incumbent will assist employees and management in identifying waste and improvement opportunities. Additionally, the incumbent will be instrumental in deploying appropriate process improvement methods and lead effective implementation and use of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools, 80/20 approach and methods. Ensures that standard operating procedures exist to meet both the short- and long-term needs of the business and shares best practices with affected work groups. Leads Lean and 80/20 audit processes, addresses nonconformities from audits, and uses data to drive decisions to help specific departments and/or the organization become more proactive. Ensures all Plant identified CI projects and oversee that such projects are progressing within projected timelines. In partnership with the EH&S Manager, the incumbent maintains CI suggestions from employees and assists in facilitating employee-involvement meetings to improve plant safety performance, eliminate workplace hazards, and reduce ergonomic concerns. Works with plant and/or department management to simplify, combine standardize processes across the group. Coordinate and facilitate lean training to associates and staff across all levels of the organization. Facilitate rapid improvement (Kaizen) events to drive process improvements. Prepare and present report outs at the conclusion of the event. Track action items and lead team members through completion. Monitor and ensure audit processes are in place to sustain Lean and 80/20 expected performance. This is not a detailed description of all the work required. New duties and responsibilities may be required to meet the changing demands of the business. Education and Experience Preferred: B.S. Degree in related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Hands-on production floor involvement with facilities management experience in machining, mechanical, or electrical. Experience in wire and cable environment preferred. Knowledge and Skills Preferred: Lean/Six Sigma training; Green Belt preferred. Proven technical skills and reasoning ability, as well as sound analytical and troubleshooting skills to isolate the variables that cause problems and identify appropriate corrective actions. Serves as a team player with staff colleagues and a developer of teamwork skills within designated areas of responsibility. Demonstrated ability to create strong working relationships with cross-functional teams. Strong leadership, coaching, and presentation skills. Superior oral and written communication skills with all employees, staff, contractors, and outside regulatory officials. Self-starter, persistent, safety-conscious individual who is proactive in initiating work assignments. Proficient computer skills in MS Office & virtual on-line programs. Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions. Ability to move objects and materials - maximum 25 lbs./12 kg. Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
