We are looking for a
VP of Indirect Tax
to work for our Chicago client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. Responsibilities Define and implement the company’s global indirect tax strategy, including sales and use, VAT/GST, excise, and other transaction taxes. Oversee compliance with all indirect tax laws and regulations while managing timely and accurate tax filings across multiple jurisdictions. Lead, mentor, and expand the indirect tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Work with finance, legal, and operational teams to assess the tax implications of business strategies and initiatives. Identify and implement best practices to streamline indirect tax operations, leveraging technology and automation. Monitor and mitigate indirect tax risks while maintaining a robust internal control framework. Qualifications Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance 10+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax, with a proven track record of leadership in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment Expertise in indirect tax laws and compliance Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
