Genesis10 is currently looking for a Sr Project Manager with strong knowledge of Alternatives (Investments & Distribution)/Real Estate Investment for a 6 month contract for a Financial Services client in Houston TX. Must be on site 50% of the time. Can work remote for 50% of time. Client will pay for travel to client site if not local.
Summary: The team is a key part of delivering the Company's strategic goals, objectives, and outcomes. The role will operate globally across teams in the U.S. and EMEA, supporting Goals within the Global Alternatives Businesses. The role will be accountable for the planning, delivery, and risk management of one or more projects within the Global Alternatives business. The role will work directly with the Alternatives COO, line of business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders in risk, legal and compliance; and will report through the GT&C delivery lead in North America.
Responsibilities: Management of Objectives, Goals, scope, budget, deliverables, and timelines for project/s within the roles scope including engagement with various impacted business teams and stakeholders across Alternatives and into the operational teams (middle and back office). Accountability for the planning and execution of underlying workstreams, ensuring alignment to delivery milestones and benefit objectives. Project planning to agreed standards, mandatory that plans are created and maintained in Microsoft project with clear articulation of portfolio, programme, and project level goals and outcomes for milestone level tracking and reporting. Construction of project cost model, budget, and management of forecast and actuals tracking. Creation of resource forecasts on behalf of the projects being managed. This supports engagement with resource managers and engagement in portfolio wide prioritization and demand/supply management. Project reporting at various governance forums. Regular status reporting and project management activity e.g., resource management, RAID log management and issue prioritization/resolution. Run effective project level governance and manage stakeholder expectations accordingly within the Columbia Threadneedle Investments control framework. Ensuring plans are aligned to our strategic roadmap and long-term business needs. Work closely with the architecture team to design Technology, Data & Business solutions. Ensure that all Stakeholders have a common understanding of what is being delivered and how each area contributes to delivery of capability transformation/change.
Qualifications: Extensive Project management experience with a proven track record of delivery with complex projects. Experience of delivering large transformation within an asset manager with experience of core asset classes and underlying security types of Alternatives businesses. Strong knowledge of front-back operating models within Alternatives (Investments & Distribution Back-office services including performance management and reporting, accounting, custody management). Experience of change governance processes and best practice. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver end to end solutions and work with enabling functions including technology and data. Passion for delivering high quality outcomes. Self-starter mentality essential. Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and build strong working relationships with other teams. Strong communication skills, client management and influencing skills. Strong customer awareness and business focus. Ability to work collaboratively with others to navigate complex decision points.
Additional knowledge and skills, experience, and training A strong understanding of real estate investment management, including investment lifecycle, supporting systems and technology, real estate asset acquisition and sale, real estate fund structures with associated legal, regulatory and risk management practices. Familiar with real estate investment joint ventures, limited partnerships, and general partnerships. Familiar with corporate entity-level transitions/wind downs and asset-level transfers/wind downs. Familiar with asset management wind down practices such as oversight and governance, planning and execution, customer protection, financial management, governance roles and responsibilities and communication and roll out. Knowledge of project methodologies including Hybrid and Waterfall project management and control tasks, for example complete project reporting and project documentation. Critical that project manager is highly competent in Microsoft Project. Must have experience of project planning, project reporting and the active management of project risks and issues, and quality management.
Compensation:
Hourly W2 pay rate $80-$85
