Overall Purpose:
Develop and maintain category-specific strategies and plans for AT&T's Enterprise-Wide Software Sourcing to support the Technology organizational goals, with particular focus on internal demand aggregation, external market impacts to AT&T’s strategy, supplier management, and collaborative innovation.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Category Strategy and Market Analysis:
Develop and maintain category specific strategies and plans, conduct market research to identify and assess risks and opportunities, and forecast demand for highly technical categories such as Software, Cloud, RAN, and CPE. Supplier Management and Contract Negotiation:
Establish contract standards for the supported category and work cross-functionally to support the negotiation of key contracts in their supported category. Requires the understanding and incorporation of technical specifications and requirements. Collaborative Innovation and Cross-Functional Coordination:
Drive collaborative innovation with internal stakeholders, supply chain, and suppliers. Interface and persuade with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to ensure seamless execution of category plans. This includes discourse with technical counterparts to bridge the gap between business objectives and technical requirements. Performance Monitoring and Process Improvement:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) using data analytics to track category and supplier performance and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Cost Management and Spend Solutions Strategies:
Identify and implement cost saving opportunities, develop tail spend management strategies to reduce vendor proliferation, and leverage technological platforms for efficient buying channel management. Job Contribution: An expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Leads critical, high-impact projects and designs/implements innovative business strategies. Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership and influencing executive decisions. Serves as a mentor and assists others with challenging issues. Supervisory:
No Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree desired in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field to the category managed. Experience:
Typically 7+ years of professional experience in Software, with a strong focus on procurement supply chain management and category management in highly technical fields. Proven track record of managing large-scale initiatives, successful supplier negotiation and relationship management, and cost-saving initiatives desired. Salary Range:
Our Principal Tech Category Procurement Mgmt earn between $179,800 - $215,800 annually in Dallas, TX, Arlington Heights, IL, and Bedminster, NJ. Our Principal Tech Category Procurement Mgmt earn between $128,400 - $160,500 in Atlanta, GA. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
