Student Life Manager POSITION DETAILS York College, founded in 1966, is a center of academic excellence in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. One of the eleven senior colleges in The City University of New York, the College’s mission is to enrich students' lives by fostering an environment where they’ll grow into passionate and engaged learners. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Wellness & Resources, the Women’s Center Manager will have responsibility for managing the York College Women’s Center for Gender Justice and its affiliated programs. In addition, the Manager will also have direct responsibility for other Special Programs such as LGBTQ+ grant funded programs, the Food Pantry and other resources. Responsibilities include the following: Manage the day-to-day operation of the Women’s Center including budget oversight and management; Provide services, advice and additional support to students. Work with community-based organizations to create and maintain a referral network of services that will benefit students. Provide training and educational workshops to the College community on issues of gender-based violence and student support resources (sexual assault, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, etc.). Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate the Center’s programs and events as established by the University. Manage communications from the Women’s Center to students, staff, campus neighbors, and outside agencies. Oversee retention activities sponsored by the Division of Student Development and the Office of Academic Affairs; Review and analyze statistical data; report data as required by CUNY Women’s Centers Council. Create and maintain a database of support services/ additional resources for student parents and those experiencing domestic/ gender-based violence. Develop and implement programming and learning opportunities for students, including partnerships and workshops with NYC Commission on Human Rights, Grow NYC, and Human Resources Administration (HRA). Oversee the daily operations of the Hungry for Knowledge Food Access Initiatives, not limited to student impacts research trends, digital marketing, program management, budget monitoring, and ongoing reporting of populations served. Provide administrative and technical support for campus financial resources, specifically addressing student emergency needs through programs like the Petrie Emergency Grant. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and six years related experience required. CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW Evaluates student needs and trends to develop a range of student services. Develops and administers specific programs and general activities in support of student needs. Develops relationships with college departments and outside community organizations to understand student needs and available development opportunities. Represents the College in campus-wide and university-wide groups and councils focusing on priority student issues. Manages staff, fiscal resources, and facilities supporting student affairs activities. Performs related duties as assigned.
