Clinical Assistant Professor - Nursing & Public Health

Job Description:
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Nursing & Public Health seeks applications for a two-year term Clinical Assistant Professor position, starting in August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching didactic lectures, clinical courses, simulations, and labs as needed in medical-surgical nursing. Additional responsibilities include mentoring prelicensure nursing students; participating in faculty governance, including serving on departmental, school, and/or university committees; developing, implementing, and evaluating the purpose, philosophy/mission, and outcomes of the program; designing, implementing, evaluating, and revising the curriculum as demonstrated in the program evaluation plan; providing students with written program policies as specified; participating in academic advisement and guidance of students; providing for admission, progression, and graduation of students; providing for student evaluation, self-evaluation, and peer evaluation of teaching effectiveness; and participating in activities to ensure competency in area(s) of responsibility.
Education Requirements:
Master's degree in nursing required.
Required Qualifications:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Iowa prior to teaching; at least two years of experience in clinical nursing; and a master's degree with a major in nursing required. An individual is currently licensed when licensed in another state and recognized for licensure in Iowa pursuant to the nurse licensure compact contained in Iowa Code chapter 152E.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and experience in medical-surgical nursing or critical care preferred.
