Telemedicine Paramedic- PRN

Provides quality patient care and upholds duty to act. Patient care and interventions tracked and documented appropriately. Ability to communicate with patients, family and on-line medical control. Maintains all certifications are in good standing and current.
Paramedics for the telemedicine program will care for patients at home, or other non-urgent settings outside of the hospital under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider. In the home or other non-urgent settings, paramedics will be expected to draw blood for testing, start IVs, and administer medications at the direction of the physician or advanced practice provider.
Education/Formal Training/Licensure/Certifications/Experience:
High School Diploma and/or GED and Associates degree. Current NC Paramedic Certification Certified Community Paramedic (CP-C) or obtained within the first 6-months of employment. Current on all AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS Current certification in ITLS or PHTLS FirstHealth Speciality Care Transport Paramedic credentialing required within six months. Current valid NC drivers license, with good driving history. Requires; 1 year full-time experience in a high equity EMS service.

Positive Interpersonal Skills Flexible and Open to Change Prior knowledge of EMS. Effective written and oral communication skills. Effective Patient Care skills. Ability to recognize the need for interventions over and above his/her level of care. Must be able to carry out assignments without direct supervision or detailed instruction. Must be able to use governing policies, regulations, general guidelines, and organizational skills. Must have working knowledge of department regulations, treatment protocols, standard operating procedures and aid in decisions made during shift.
