Job Summary
Assist classroom teacher in the overall education, guidance, management, academic assessment, instruction, and care of students. Assist teacher with clerical and other non-instructional duties. • Assist the classroom teacher in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students; • Assist with planning and preparation of activities, equipment and materials; • Assist in establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior; • Assist in providing a safe learning environment; • Assists and guides students by providing appropriate role modeling, emotional support, patience, and a friendly and engaging attitude. • Provide reteaching to individuals or small groups of students after teacher-directed instruction; • Conduct learning exercises with small groups of students. Must attend up to 10 hours of mandatory training over summer. Training Dates TBD

The written test will be given on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 9:00 am or 2:00 pm (picture ID required). Late arrivals will not be admitted for testing. No cell phones, no calculator. Application and information may be obtained from Moorpark Unified School District, 5297 Maureen Lane, Moorpark, CA 93021, (805) 378-6300 or at mrpk.org. Current employees working in a different job classification and desiring to make application for a vacant position should complete and submit an Application for Classified Employment to the Personnel Office prior to the posted deadline. An employee requesting to transfer from one work site to another work site in the same job classification, must complete and submit a classified Request for Transfer to the Personnel Office prior to the deadline. Outside applicants will also be considered.
