Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Physical Therapy Assistant Discipline: Therapy Start Date: 01/06/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description & Requirements Physical Therapist Assistant - Acute - (PTA) StartDate: 1/6/2025 Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $1440.00 - $1660.00 PTA needed asap for 13 weeks Physical therapy services are provided in response to a physician’s referral and physical therapist’s plan of care, in accordance with the laws governing the state of New Mexico, and within the scope of the therapist assistant’s training, knowledge, and experience. May be required to work occasional weekends Providing skilled treatment of functional mobility, motor function, muscular strengthening, sensation, wounds, ambulation, balance, social, and environmental needs · Following an appropriate plan of care that includes measurable functional goals while considering patient’s psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs · Providing clear documentation that meets APTA guidelines and billing for appropriate charges in a timely manner · Perform family/caregiver/patient education to increase independence upon discharge. MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Ø Education: Graduate of nationally-accredited PTA program Ø Work Experience: Greater than one year of experience preferred, but new graduates welcomed to apply Ø License/Certification: Must be eligible for current licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board. BLS required before employment begins. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: · Basic computer · Ability to efficiently schedule and perform patient care independently AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
