The Student Life Assistant will support the Department of Student Life by performing a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing student engagement and development. Key responsibilities include: Greeting students and answering questions about Student Life and Student Organizations. • Collaborating with the Director of Student Life to plan and execute events, including brainstorming ideas, contacting acts, promoting events, setting up and tearing down, tracking attendance, and more. • Assisting in keeping Student Life storage and equipment clean and organized. • Providing information to visitors and helping them locate appropriate persons and departments. • Keeping bulletin boards updated with relevant information. • Working at tables during events to market programs and services. • Assisting in developing new project ideas. • Completing special projects as assigned. • Performing other related duties as assigned, consistent with commonly accepted practices. Must be Full or Part-Time Student at Ivy Tech Community College . Compensation: $15.60/HR Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 1. Dependable, responsible, and organized. 2. Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors. 3. Ability to prioritize work and complete projects in a timely manner. 4. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others. 5. Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite. 6. Motivated to help students be successful. 7. Respects confidentiality and handles sensitive data appropriately. 8. Excellent customer service skills. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a currently enrolled student at Ivy Tech and maintain registration/enrollment as a student for the duration of the position • High School Diploma or G.E.D. • Trustworthy, dependable, and positive attitude. • Confidentiality is essential due to the sensitive nature of data handled. • Proficient typing and writing skills. • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
