Endoscopy Technician

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for the preparation of instruments, set-up of procedure with all equipment necessary to perform any endoscopy procedure, and post-procedure turn-over of equipment, room, and patient care assistance. These responsibilities include the set-up of correct equipment, procedural assistance under the supervision of the physician, proper cleaning and maintenance of endoscopes, and assistance with the care of patients. Independent judgment is exercised under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.

Roles and Responsibilities: Patient Care: Supports patient positioning, procedure needs, and adapts to changes during procedures, maintaining a safe, clean environment. Equipment & Supplies: Manages and maintains endoscopy equipment and inventory, following infection control and safety protocols. Procedure Preparation: Prepares and organizes for procedures, following safety protocols and supporting efficient workflow. Collaboration & Improvement: Participates in unit improvements, promotes teamwork, and contributes to performance improvement. Communication & Data Management: Accurately manages patient data, communicates effectively, and assists with data entry and inventory documentation. On-Call shifts are required for this role. Required Skills and Experience:

Education - High School or equivalent experience Licensure - Successful completion and maintenance of the GI Technical Specialist certification through the SGNA within 6 months of starting position. Preferred Skills and Experience:

1-2 Years' Experience Experience in the Healthcare Fields a Plus Physical Requirements:

Frequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard). Lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs. (e.g., boxes, equipment), with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, as the position may require. Capacity to operate job-related equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. Location and Travel Requirements:

Onsite at Cayuga Medical Center- 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850 50% Travel between Cayuga Medical Center and Cayuga Endoscopy Center Pay Range Disclosure:

Standard Rate of $19.50 per hour plus benefits OR

Enhanced Rate of $21.93 per hour w/o benefits
