About the Role The role requires completing an Apprenticeship Training Standard Book and working under the guidance of a qualified electrician for diagnosing electrical faults and performing equipment repairs. Maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, record keeping, and assisting with machinery modification are also part of the responsibilities. Your Responsibilities Complete Apprenticeship Training Standard Book, provided by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. Work alongside and under the guidance of a qualified electrician to support in the diagnosis and analysis and assisting with repairs of equipment and electrical faults in the plant. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) schedules as required. Work with Electricians, Maintenance Mechanics / Millwrights in a trouble-shooting capacity. Complete all check sheets and records as relates to the electrical function. Assist with modifying machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed. Prepare and distribute machine reports and downtime reports; suggest preventative measures to minimize or eliminate breakdowns. Assist in the installation and commissioning of equipment; assist with electrical/mechanical installations of new equipment, and re-siting of equipment. Ensure compliance to all Health & Safety legislation and Environmental laws where applicable. Promote and comply with safety standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times. Any other reasonable duty required by Management. Who we are looking for Background in either Stamping or Automated assembly processes an asset. Completion of High School Diploma. 1 year of electrical related experience an asset, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment. Familiarity with robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics and production machines an asset. Practical knowledge and experience in preventative maintenance procedures and exposure to industrial controls an asset. Familiarity with Programming Logistics Control (PLC) desirable.
