Overview Red Coats Inc. is looking for someone who is upwardly mobile, with the desire to learn and progress with our team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing our financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in all major month-end closing activities and preparing monthly financial statements. Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. The role will include supporting the Finance department in a variety of projects from start to finish to ensure compliance and accuracy. Responsibilities • Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and completeness• Reconcile various general ledger accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved timely• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements• Maintain and update month-end close checklists and calendars• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies• Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting documentation• Prepare and maintain accruals and prepaid schedules • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports• Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations• Collaborate with other departments to gather and review financial information• Assist with audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries• Ensure adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices• Participate in special projects and system implementations as needed Qualifications ✓ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required✓ CPA required✓ Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, with a focus on month-end close, ideally in a service-oriented industry✓ Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment preferred✓ Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting✓ Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel required) (Lawson & AS400 a plus but not required) ✓ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills✓ Strong attention to detail and accuracy✓ Effective communication and interpersonal skills✓ Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage priorities✓ Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team✓ Proactive attitude and willingness to take on additional responsibilities✓ Continuous improvement mindset J-18808-Ljbffr
