The Director of Finance for the Hyatt Regency Chicago O'Hare will manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Office. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and financial reporting, budgeting/forecasting, audit and control, asset, and liability reconciliation, working capital and cash control. The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented and a meticulously organized team player who possesses a positive, problem-solving attitude.
Responsibilities: Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others Advocate sound financial and business decision making Demonstrate honesty and integrity, lead by example Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes Celebrate successes by publicly recognizing the contributions of team members Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently Generate accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information or data Ensure that the P&L is accurate (i.e., costs are properly matched to revenue, costs are recorded in the proper accounts) and statements are delivered appropriately Reconcile balance sheet Ensure tax rates used for sales/use tax are current and proper amounts are collected and/or accrued Ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) Ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOPs Review audit issues and make corrections as needed Ensure property permits, licenses, and (if applicable) vendor contracts are current Leverage centralized accounting processes and shared services Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards Leverage technology and effectively use information systems and tools to generate financial reports and provide managers with analytical support to drive decision-making Inform and update the team on relevant financial information in a timely manner Communicate financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors Submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately Achieve and exceed goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
Requirements: 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related major Minimum 2 years of experience with finance functions in a full-service hotel Knowledge of business law, taxes, as well as Department of Labor regulations Sound decision making skills Analytical skills Leadership and organizational skills Organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills both written and oral Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Excellent time management Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Experience with payroll processing An aptitude for self-motivation A can-do attitude and a hands-on approach Our Company MCR is the 3rd-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States.
